Casa Tuia in de Algarve

In February 2014 we all moved to Portugal. Very soon, we found this place and we were immediately in love. Originally, shrimps and seahorses were bred here, for aquariums, which were exported to all over the world.

Of the existing building we made 3 apartments but during the works, we got the idea to put also luxury tents. Another name for this is "Glamping", glamorous camping. So we made 3 apartments and 4 safari tents. Casa Tuia became a fact!

But after 3 years, we decided to put another tent because we couldn´t catch up with the demand. The year after, in 2018, we built 2 more villa’s and another apartment, which will be bookable from April 2019.

Out of the shipping container, which we used to move to Portugal, we made a nice bar with a lounge area. For the little ones we have a children's playground and the parents can have fun on a Petanque court. The pool of 15x7m is the most popular spot of Casa Tuia, for both … young and old.

Casa Tuia is situated on a hill, with beautiful views at the mountains on one side and the sea on the other side. That’s why it is very quiet, but still close to the city centre or beach of Carvoeiro (1400m) and the many other beautiful beaches to explore here.

There are several supermarkets near with an "Intermarché" at only 600m away. Carvoeiro is a very central place in the Algarve and, therefore, a good base for the many trips you can make. For the more active people amongst us, there are lots of activities such as cliff walking; walks you can make along the whole coastline, surfing, cycling along the many beautiful cycling routes, stand-up paddling, kayaking, skydiving, water-skiing, etc... .

Those who prefer a more quiet and relaxing holiday, will be enjoying the many “award-winning” beaches you can visit nearby. The Dolphin-spotting is a very fun and memorable activity. Also the caves trip with a speedboat along the shoreline will bring you to places that are not reachable through the land, etc … there are so many things you can do during your holiday here in the Algarve!
